I would like to point out that "either" and "neither" do not actually mean the same thing.

Edit: "Gate" and "gait" are also not the same thing. Although that mistake did make me laugh.

Edit 2: "Break" and "brake" do not mean the same thing. Jesus, people.

In the absence of a beta, how 'bout a read-over and a bloody dictionary? Though a dictionary might be a little too advanced for these types.

I swear, these "writers" just throw their "creation" online without ever reading it over themselves.

The problem I'm having at the moment is that my internal Bad English Alarm is stuck on "Grouchy English Professor" and I stop reading anything which has any sort of error within the first few paragraphs. So when I come across these errors, it's in fics where the author has a pretty decent grasp of English, and that makes it jar all the more. :/
